Who Is Jacquii?

Jacquii Cooke is a 29 year old Virgo who currently resides in her hometown of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.  She anticipated graduating from Oak Ridge High School in 1993, but due to personal reasons opted for the GED (General Education Degree) instead.  She has more recently committed to making a career of writing and sharing her poetry.

Jacquii's poetry, which is one of her greatest hobby as well, is about dealing with the harsh realities of overcoming life's obstacles by championing courage, irony, wit & spirituality.  She is currently seeking publication for her first poetry book Obsession With Technicolor - Preface to a Memoire in Epiphany which focuses on redemption and righting wrongs for past transgressions.

"Mine is an autobiography in prose poetry format which transcends the immediate setting and explores and reveals themes that are universal -Man's faith, his relationship with his fellows and to the natural world,"  reveals an excited Jacquii about her first poetry compilation."I should hope to liken myself to a modern-day Maya Angelou or Langston Hughes."

"My philosophy is to love and let love...   I wouldn't begin to think about hating you fabulously.  I can love you much better and always appreciate when that love is reciprocated!  Plus I think it's just much more fun to simply love.  Don't you?"

Jacquii has had work featured in Outsiders Ink, Pyramid Magazine, and a variety of poetry anthologies. Jacquii's work may also be seen on her forum for writers: JPiC Forum For Writers, which is now accepting registrations.

Tidbit #1

Jacquii describes herself as rare spontaneous & intuitive fearless.  That descriptive depiction is witnessed below in the "self-portrait" piece entitled Titles in Perpetuum.
Tidbit #2
Jacquii celebrated her 30th birthday September 19, 2005. "One milestone reached," quips a very coy Jacquii. "Now I suppose a fool at forty is a fool indeed!"
Tidbit #3
Jacquii is an avid collector of unicorns and fairy statuettes. "Hey everyone needs some type of passion."
Tidbit #4
Jacquii is an animal lover from way back. One of the major loves of her life is her 12 year old Chow named Jali Bear (pronounced like holly). "She has been with me through thick & thin; she's most likely my best friend... Most loyal anyway," Jacquii laughs, blushing. "I also have a 1 year old Sugar Glider which I love with all of my being. Her name is Fancy and she's just like the cutest thing you ever did see - Well don't tell my Jali Bear about that though..."
Tidbit #5
"I am a complete nut when it comes to jazz music. I love the genre; it's like feel good meditating-type music. Peaceful." Miles Davis and John Coltrane are amongst her favorites.
Tidbit #6
Jacquii was 1st chair (principle) tubist in the All-State Tennessee Highschool Band competition (1993). Yes - she is also an avid aficionado of classical music, whom actually had the distinct opportunity of performing in a personal audience with Pope John Paul II in Vatican City. Wagner, Rossini & Tchaikovsky are amongst her favorites in the classical genre.

Sojourner Truth:

"If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these together ought to be able to turn it back and get it right side up again."

Jacquii's Sign: Virgo

Virgo is the sign of sharing. Virgo believes, what you reap is...what you sow.  If you turn within to know yourself, and have the courage to experience life through the needs of others, peace and happiness can be yours...along with success.

Virgo has a strong will, one that overrides any opposition.  They know they can get whatever they want!  They use their will wisely.

Good health is a priority for Virgo, they can become obsessed with health food, diet and exercise.

For them this determines whether illness or disease will be an issue.

They also have the capacity to deny themselves passion and pleasure. They are sometimes the sinner who gets enlightened, the criminal who does a good deed.

Love in Virgo can be spiritual and idealistic, without the physical satisfaction. The personality, spirit and mind are more important to Virgo.
